New Feature: Automatic Report Matching Dashboard

We are excited to announce a new feature that makes it even easier to reunite lost pets with their families: the Automatic Report Matching Dashboard.

What It Does ​

When you post a lost or found pet report on Pet FBI, we automatically search the database for reports that may be a match. Now you can view all of those results instantly in one place, any time you need.

The matching dashboard returns reports filtered by location (within a set radius of your zip code), date (reports near the time of your report), and animal type. If you posted a lost dog report, you will see found dog reports that may match. If you posted a found cat report, you will see lost cat reports in your area.

Results are displayed on a map alongside a grid of report cards, so you can quickly scan photos and details to see if any match your pet. You can also filter results by keyword or date using the free-text search field, and load additional results from the database with the Load More button.

How to Access It ​

After posting your report, head to your Pet FBI Dashboard and open your reports list. You will see a matches button next to each report, click it to open the matching dashboard for that report.

Already Getting Email Alerts? ​

The existing automatic email alerts you receive for new matching reports are not going away. Those continue for 90 days after you posted or last updated your report. The new matching dashboard complements the alerts by giving you an on-demand view of all potential matches whenever you need to check in.

What to Do If No Matches Are Found ​

If the matching dashboard shows no results, you can widen your search manually using the Pet FBI Report Search feature, where you can adjust the distance radius, date range, and other filters.
