You Can Help Bring a Lost Pet Home

Every day, pets go missing — and every day, the reports pile up across dozens of different websites, Facebook groups, and neighborhood apps. A lost dog gets posted on Nextdoor. The same dog, found a mile away, gets posted on a local shelter's page. Nobody connects the two. That's a reunion that never happens.

That's the problem our Pet FBI Special Agents exist to solve — and anyone can become one.

Being a Special Agent doesn't require training, equipment, or even much time. It just takes three steps:

  1. Sign up for Special Agent Alerts — get a real-time email whenever a lost or found pet is reported near you (choose your zip code, radius, and species), and share it to Facebook or NextDoor in a couple of clicks.
  2. Download the Special Agent Toolkit — everything you need to get started, in one zip file.
  3. Connect the dots — cross-reference reports across Pet FBI, Nextdoor, Facebook groups, shelter pages, HomeAgain, and Petco Love Lost to spot matches that panicked, overwhelmed owners might have missed.

That third step is where the real magic happens. Pet owners in crisis often only think to post in one or two places. A calm, observant volunteer scanning multiple sources can spot the match that brings a family's pet home.

Every reunion starts with someone who made the connection. That someone could be you.
